The water’s edge – 2013
Mark was selected to exhibit a solo show of work that was supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. The exhibition was entitled ‘The water’s edge’ and ran during the month of September 2013 at the Waterfront Hall Belfast. The opening night for the show was on 4th September, where Mark talked about the work.
This exhibition aimed to represent ‘the voice of the silent majority’ in Northern Ireland as the ‘boundary plates’ are moving and being redefined. Using the familiar subject matter of landscape and water to metaphorically represent complexities, challenges and opportunities, it encouraged the process of looking at the familiar and seeing the unknown.
